Named in honor of the patron saint of Barrio Malibay, the San Juan Nepomuceno Band was established in 1965. The music director, conductor, and arranger of the band is Dr. Herminigildo G. Ranera, the resident conductor of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and founder of the Philippine Band Association (Philbanda). The San Juan Nepomuceno Band, the pride of Malibay, Pasay City has been gaining prizes since 1966. Early this year, it won the Las Piñas Town Fiesta Band Competition in the Drill category as Champion, and second in the Parade category.
