The #StopandSalute Flag Raising Ceremony is a project of the National Parks Development Committee and the Department of in partnership with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Salute To A Clean Flag.
Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 374 signed on March 6, 1965, May 28 is declared as National Flag Day to commemorate the first time our national emblem was unfurled after the Philippine Revolutionary Army defeated defeated the Spanish forces in the Battle of Alapan in Imus, Cavite in 1898. During this date, all Filipinos are reminded and encouraged to display a clean Philippine flag in their respective offices, agencies, business establishments, schools, and private homes.
