Flores de Mayo, one of the highly anticipated festivals in the Philippines, will be celebrated with two exciting events at Rizal Park Luneta: Flores de Mayo Parade & Fashion Show at the Central Section on 13 May 2023 and Santacruzan Gowns Exhibit at the Rizal Park Visitor’s Center on 14-26 May 2023. Exquisite gown creations of esteemed designers Erick Valeña, Nomer Cerbito, Jhay Layson, Juvy Fantilanan, and Jolaida Niccolai will be featured. These designers have gained recognition in both their local community and on the international stage.
Erick Valeña, whose studio has become a second home for Filipino celebrities and artists, has established himself as a prominent figure in the fashion scene. Nomer Cerbito, a protégé of Filipino designer David Tupaz, opened his own shop in 1995 and has since dressed up iconic artists. Jhay Layson, an internationally acclaimed fashion designer, has showcased his collections at prestigious events such as the House of iKONS Fashion Week in London, as well as in various locations across the United States and Europe. Juvy Fantilanan is a designer who initiated her brand, Mikay Kikay, in Antipolo and Canlubang, showcasing her unique creative vision. Jolaida Niccolai, an international fashion designer, successfully launched her own fashion brand and garnered recognition as the Best Designer award in 2019, making her brand’s position a leading fashion label in the Philippines.
