POSITION DESCRIPTION – Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates NPDC motor vehicles and equipment (Boom truck, water truck, Dump truck) in safely transporting NPDC personnel, various products, materials, properties, and supplies to and from specified locations in a timely manner.
- Prepares and submits reports on fuel and oil consumption and distance traveled.
- Ensures that the motor vehicles of the agency are always fueled and ready for use.
- Makes minor mechanical repairs and maintenance on equipment of vehicles.
- Submits properly accomplished monthly vehicle trip tickets.
- Prepares requirements for the use of the official vehicle.
- Performs messengerial tasks, when requested.
- Ensures that the vehicle under his/her responsibility is in safe and good condition at all times.
- Checks / monitors the status and condition of the vehicle/s under his/her responsibility, and initiates a written report or request if any maintenance and/or repair work is needed.
- Ensures the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of assigned vehicle/s at all times.
- Replaces flat tire/s of the vehicle/s, if needed.
- Checks the following before starting the vehicle/s: level of engine oil, radiator water, steering oil, brake & clutch fluid, wiper washer, tire/s pressure, lighting system, any oil leak, water leak, and/or abnormal noise in engine transmission.
- Immediately reports to Motorpool Mechanic any observed damage or defect of the assigned vehicle/s for proper checking and immediate action.
- Performs other related duties and undertakes other tasks when the need arises.
