QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education: High School Graduate or Vocational or Completed Apprenticeship related to the job position
Experience: At least two (2) years of relevant experience in carpentry, painting and masonry works on park facilities and structures
Training None required
Eligibility None required
Skills Knowledge in use of hand and power tools, welding works and various aspects of construction

POSITION DESCRIPTION – Duties and Responsibilities

  • Does the layout, installation, repair, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, buildings, and hardscape elements;
  • Constructs and repairs building frameworks and structures made from wood and other materials;
  • Installs structures and fixtures, such as windows, moldings, stairways, doorframes, partitions, cabinets, sidings, drywall, and other building structure elements;
  • Prepares surfaces and applies paint to surfaces;
  • Performs touch-ups and painting projects related to the maintenance of park structures or facilities;
  • Inspects and replaces damaged frameworks or other structures and fixtures;
  • Executes the given task of the Facilities Maintenance Section Chief with regard to the Carpentry, Masonry, and Painting Concerns; and
  • Accomplishes daily updates and accomplishment reports/ checklists.
