The National Parks Development Committee in cooperation with Saint Vincent de Paul Parish and Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno – St. John the Baptist Parish (Quiapo Church), invites every Filipino Catholic to commemorate and celebrate the life of Jesus at Paco Park and Rizal Park Luneta this Holy Week.
The Semana Santa in Paco Park will begin with the Palm Sunday Mass at the St. Pancratius Chapel on 24 March 2024 at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. This will be followed by a Way of the Cross procession around the historic Paco Park on 25 March 2024 (Holy Monday) at 5:00 p.m. For the rest of the week, Paco Park, including the St. Pancratius Chapel will open its gates for the Stations of the Cross from 6:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., except on 28 March 2024, Maundy Thursday – the park and the chapel will be open until 12 midnight. To end the week, a celebratory Easter Sunday Mass will be held on 31 March 2024 at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, in Rizal Park Luneta, an Interactive Stations of the Cross conceptualized by Reverend Father Jesus Madrid Jr. of the Quiapo Church, awaits devotees and park goers alike. It will operate from 25 to 30 March 2024, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Kanlungan ng Sining. The image of the Black Nazarene (Poong Itim na Nazareno) will also be on display at the venue.
